WilgusIQ is not a chain or franchise. We are a family-owned business started by Missouri native Shane Wilgus in 1996. Shane spent years perfecting his craft before putting his own name on a company. What to Expect When You’re Expecting Countertops
What can you expect from WilgusIQ each step of the way, and what can you do to make buying new countertops a stress-free and enjoyable experience?
When you visit the showroom or contact us.
What we’ll do: Listen and give you personal attention. At our showroom, you’ll see an outstanding collection of full-size slabs, samples, displays and sinks. We’ll answer questions and explain the pros and cons of different materials.
What you can do: Provide a shop drawing or hand-drawn sketch of your project. You can also bring any paint, cabinet or flooring samples with you when choosing materials.
When you’ve chosen your materials.
What we’ll do: Give you a quote, usually within 24 hours, that will include materials and cost of installation. As part of the process, we’ll talk about about what kind of finish, edge and backsplash you prefer, whether you need special supports or tear-out of existing countertops, and if you would like to order a sink.
What you can do: Be ready with as many decisions as possible.
When you’re ready to place your order.
What we’ll do: We’ll calculate your deposit amount, typically 50% of the quote. Once the deposit is received, we’ll schedule a time to come and take an exact measurement, or template, of the job and set a tentative installation date.
What you can do: Tell us when your project will be ready for us to begin work. Finalize your choice of countertop edge, backsplash and key design details.
When we template.
What we’ll do: Use a state-of-the-art laser to take exact measurements. The templating process usually takes one to two hours. With these precise measurements, we can prepare a final quote for your approval.
What you can do: Arrange for us to have access to the job site and make it ready for our templater. For the safety of all concerned, please keep small children and pets away from the work area and clear it of any unnecessary items.
When we install.
What we’ll do: We will professionally install your chosen materials along with any sinks, seams, and backsplash. We will carefully clean the work area and answer any questions you may have. Our lead installer will take you through a final walkthrough and sign-off for the job.
What you can do: On installation day it’s very important that the entry and walkways be clear of any debris or obstacles. Small children and pets must be safely removed from the transit and work areas. Once the job is complete, the remaining balance will be due for payment.
After installation.
What we’ll do: We’ll check in approximately two weeks after install to ensure your satisfaction and answer any questions.
